[HOW-TO] Subscribing To A Section/Topic (Email Notification)

Postby jsoohoo » 05 Sep 2013, 16:46

Subscribing is a method of getting notified via email when a new topic is posted or a response is made on a topic.

This is a very useful way of keeping up on discussions and posts.

[How to Subscribe]
- Log into your forum account
- Select the section/topic you would like to subscribe to.
- Scroll to the bottom of that section/topic.
- Select the Subscribe forum/topic option on the bottom right of the page, in the footer section.

* The Unsubscribe option would be available in the same place if you are subscribed to that section/topic

I tried subscribing to Mark5 (after which the button at the bottom of the page has the option to unsubscribe) but did not receive email after adding a new post to the Mark5 section. Any ideas?

Hi Walter,

I believe you only get notified by posts made by other users.

I will make a test post.

Hi all,

Currently the subscription notification only sends an email on the FIRST "New" post or reply. And it's only when the section or topic has been marked as read will it notify again.

There is a "Mark forums read" button on the top right side of the board index. This will flag all posts as read and you will get notified on the next post or reply.

We will look into adding a modification that will all users to opt to get notified on all posts or replies to a topic. It had been requested by some users.

Best,
Jason
